Final review

After your visit, our leadership team will conduct a final review of your application. Qualified candidates will be approved to join the Tipsy Scoop™ family and open their own Tipsy Scoop™ Barlour franchise.

Onboarding & Training

Start the onboarding process, including receiving staff training materials and equipment lists. In the weeks leading up to your grand opening, you'll receive a visit form the Tipsy Scoop™ team for in-depth training on store setup and decor, customer interface and marketing.

What are the startup costs and what do they include?

Currently, the range of investment is from $227,767 to $313,105 including the $39,000 single unit initial franchise fee. Other estimated costs include equipment, fit out, 3rd party professional advisory fees, insurance and 3- months of working capital.

How much space do I need for my Tipsy Scoop™ ice cream Barlour?

Between 300 and 800 square feet with access to adequate parking, walk-by or drive by traffic. We have specific
site criteria which will help you evaluate real estate that may be a good fit for your Tipsy Scoop™.

How long does it take to open?

You may be able to open in as few as 5 to 7 months, depending on how quickly you find a site, fit out the
barlour and come to New york for training. (We do expect you to be open 6 to 9 months after signing the agreement with us to become a franchisee.)

Do I have to be an owner operator?

Yes, we want our owners to be actively involved. Some may hire a general manager to oversee day to day
operations while they focus on marketing, catering outreach and management.

Can I own more than one barlour?

Yes! We believe some owners will operate multiple units. We offer discounts on initial franchise fees for owners
who commit up front to be a multi-unit franchise owner.

How many employees are needed to operate the business?

Typically between 1 and 3 employees per shift, whether they are part-time or full-time is up to you. The
staff count needed will depend on the season, time of day, day of the week, and what location you establish your Tipsy Scoop™ ice cream barlour.

Do I need a liquor license?

Liquor laws vary by area. You may need certain licensing as any food establishment does, and some areas may
require a liquor license to operate a Tipsy Scoop™.

Who makes the alcohol infused ice cream?

We have all the manufacturing covered; no onsite production is required by the franchisee. You will buy our propriety products (and all items or ingredients used in the sale of our product lines) from approved suppliers who serve your area with local deliveries or direct shipment to your shop.

How much can I make in this business each year?

Wow – awesome question, it will depend on how you manage the business. We will share our Financial
Performance Representation, called an Item 19 in our Franchise Disclosure Document which highlights affiliate
performance and history. This can be a useful tool to help you evaluate the revenue potential for your Tipsy Scoop™
business.

What markets are available for franchising? 

As the strongest brand in the liquor-infused ice cream market, we are only seeking select franchisees to help expand throughout the US. We are looking to partner with the best operators who share the Tipsy Scoop vision, and have the passion and drive necessary to make their location successful. We are not accepting franchise inquiries for mobile ice cream carts, only brick and mortar Barlours in available markets.
